JULY 2026

Montana Fish Camp

About the RETREAT

JOIN US IN CRAIG, MONTANA

A handful of days on one of the world’s great trout rivers — mornings spent in the current with expert guides, afternoons shaped by two of the finest practitioners of their crafts. This is not a retreat. This is an immersion. Evenings belong to long dinners, good whiskey, and the kind of conversation that only happens far from the ordinary world.

THE HEART OF THE EXPERIENCE

Creative Writing Practice
Writing is the core of the retreat. Each day includes guided writing sessions inspired by place, memory, water, and inner landscapes. Through prompts, discussion, and optional sharing, we’ll explore themes of attention, resilience, cycles, and belonging.

No previous writing experience is required—only a willingness to show up honestly and listen deeply.
PHOTOGRAPHY  MASTERCLASS
This MasterClass with Andy is about far more than learning to point a lens at a rising trout. We will learn to slow down and truly see: how light sculpts water, how a moment of stillness inside chaos becomes an image worth keeping, and how the relationship between photographer and subject — whether that's a guide, an angler, or the fish itself — is what separates a snapshot from a story.

He'll challenge you to study the world around you with a painter's eye, and to let curiosity drive every frame.

A photographer whose images have defined how the world sees fly fishing and the American West. Andy’s eye finds the extraordinary in the ordinary — light on water, the cast mid-air, the face after a fish. He’ll teach you to see before you ever raise the camera.
