Emma Teal Privat is a fisherman, artist, and small business owner based in Homer, Alaska, where she lives and operates Salmon Sisters—a values-driven brand rooted in wild seafood, community, and the culture of Alaska’s working waterfront. She grew up fishing with her family in the remote Aleutian Islands, an experience that continues to shape her deep connection to the ocean and the rhythms of a fishing life. As the mother of two young kids, she balances family and business on the water and ashore. Emma studied art, design, and English at Williams College and the University of Washington, and brings that creative foundation into her work, leading product design, storytelling, and retail experiences for Salmon Sisters. She is also the co-author of cookbooks that celebrate Alaska’s seasonal, sustainable harvests and the connection between people, place, and plate.
